This is our simple guide to building a Ronnie Rig
Step 1 You'll need the following
- Shrink Tubing
- Micro Ring Swivels
- Spinner Swivels
- Hook Stoppers
- Choice of hook, we recommend a Curve style pattern
Step 2 Cut a piece of Shrink Tube about half an inch in length
Step 3 Slide it over the eye of your chosen hook
Step 4 expose the eye of the hook
Step 5 Take your Spinner Swivel and hook it through the eye on your hook
Step 6 Slide the Shrink Tubing over the barrel of the Spinner Swivel, leaving the eye and the ring exposed
Step 7 Shrink down the Shrink Tubing using either a lighter or steam
Step 8 Inspect the tubing to ensure it has fully shrunk down and neat
Step 9 Take your micro ring swivel and thread the ring over the point of the hook
Step 10 Add a Hook Stopper over the point of the hook
Step 11 Push the Hook Stopper round the shank of the hook until its opposite the micro barb
Step 12 Your Ronnie Rig is now built. You can now attach your chosen hook bait to the Micro Ring Swivel, we recommend using bait floss for this. Finally attach the rig to your chosen hook link material or boom section.
